The Workshop
In today’s environment, with a fast-paced lifestyle, eating on the run, and the stress of just trying to keep up with daily tasks, we put our bones at risk without even being aware of what we are doing.
Osteoporosis and osteopenia are silent conditions which become more prevalent as we get older. Modern medicine makes it possible to detect these conditions with bone density scans, and pharmaceutical research has come up with medications to reverse the process, but these medications are not without side effects.
You Will Learn:
The basics of nutrition for strong bones.

Weight-bearing yoga postures and the use of free weights in a yoga sequence tailored for you in your unique situation
How walking in alignment can benefit your bones, and what it is to walk in alignment
The value of relaxation in bone strength, and yoga techniques for relaxation.
Your teachers will be three women of an age and interest to know something about this:
Mary Brekke, R.N., PH.D., AHN-BC has been a holistic nurse and educator for more than 30 years. She taught most recently at Metropolitan State University School of Nursing, has presented workshops on nutrition and energy work, and currently volunteers at Woodwinds Health Care Campus doing Healing Touch.
